Should have saved it for madness day !!
Should have saved it for madness day !!
probably
edit: i mean ofc i should have
Sound design is good, mixing is good, melodies and chords are amazing.
Suggestions:
Needs more variations in the sound. In the end part it's 2min straight of loudness, the same drum pattern, variation in the synths is good and change of chords which is very nice and hard to pull off, but you don't change the rest enough for 2mins straight, starts to get tiring on the ears the intense noisy sounds, where are the breakdowns? transitions? Feels lacking in structure and I also feel like some synths are lacking stereo. I don't like when the kick is less bassy than the synths but that's just preference.
Solid 4 star.
yeah i get that, i was mainly focusing everything on the chords and just kinda air-headed everything else lol, thank for the feedback!
Sounds like it's from a movie.
Mixing problems aside, well done man.
Thanks a lot. :)
why does it sound muffled
Edit: lacks high end, it sounds like it was low passed
I cut off some of the high-end to give off a more relaxed feel for the entire song, not enough to cut off any major frequencies given off from any of the instruments.
this is sick
Glad you liked it!
Hmm I think the hi hats are way too loud, I would turn them down a bit. I didn't see any other major issues.
appreciate the response! ill defo look into tweaking em to be a bit more balanced with the track
that was nice
^-^
wtf
? :/ ?
I like the ambiance you create in the beginning. The chord progression is very nice, the melody too, but could use less repetition.
Your bass frequency is too high, I would push down an octave and add saturation.
I don't like the kick sample you used.
Your sounds are too wet (too much reverb/delay?).
Almost all your sounds have no high end so the hi hat is very loud and out of place.
I believe the song is lacking stereo, it's mostly in mono, but that could just be me.
Mixing and sound design is very important to me, hence the low score. I hope my feedback was useful though. Good luck in your future projects !
The bass is based on the top note of each chord (since the bottom note is always C). Also, there are two bass tracks. One is sidechained, and the other is offbeat (this one is stacked by an octave) to give a more upbeat feel for the song. Also, I don't saturate my basses.
Most of the sounds I used do not have reverbed (the only sounds that are reverbed are the bells and the pads at 1:49 and 3:12). I use a lot of reverb to signify space (that is one of the themes for this song).
I also noticed you mentioned most of the tracks are in mono. It is actually a mix of both. All of the bells and pads are stereo. Most sidechained tracks are between mono and stereo (except for sidechained pads, which are stereo).
I will take your feedback as advice though.
How about changing the chords a little bit throughout the song? Gets kinda boring hearing the same chords over n over. It's not too bad tho, because the song is only 2 minutes.
Yeah I agree. Still working on being more creative. Thanks for the feedback x)
